The move was more than a cosmetic refresh. MoneyGram had already been announced as the team’s new title partner in late 2022, but the start of January was the point at which the new identity became official. Haas had spent several seasons searching for greater financial stability and stronger commercial backing. The revised name signalled that the partnership was not just a sponsor placement, but a central part of the team’s structure going into 2023.

In Formula 1, visual identity is closely tied to credibility, commercial appeal and the way a team presents itself to both fans and partners. By integrating MoneyGram into its official branding, Haas showed that it wanted to begin the season with a clearer and more settled image.

That was especially relevant at a time when the team was preparing for a fresh campaign with Kevin Magnussen and returning driver Nico Hülkenberg. Before the VF-23 had even been shown, Haas had already signalled change in one of the clearest ways possible: through its name, its logo and the business message behind both.
