The announcement gave the newly renamed team an immediate identity on the grid. Force India had emerged from Spyker after the 2007 season, and one of its first public tasks was to show that the project had a credible structure for its debut campaign. Fisichella arrived with extensive experience and Grand Prix-winning pedigree from Jordan, Sauber, Renault and others. Sutil stayed on from the previous season and offered continuity from the team’s earlier form, while Liuzzi was named in a reserve and test role.

That combination reflected a practical strategy. Fisichella brought reference points for car development and race operations, Sutil already knew parts of the organisation, and Liuzzi gave the team an experienced backup with recent Formula 1 mileage. For a team starting a new era with limited time to build momentum, that balance was important.

The line-up did not instantly turn Force India into a front-running operation, but it marked a clear starting point. Publicly confirming those three drivers was the first real sign of how the team intended to establish itself in Formula 1 under its new name.
