Sebastian Vettel made his Formula 1 debut at the 2007 United States Grand Prix for BMW Sauber, stepping in for the recovering Robert Kubica.

Vettel entered the Indianapolis weekend as BMW Sauber’s reserve driver and was promoted to the race seat after Kubica’s crash in Canada. His debut on 17 June 2007 drew attention because of his strong testing record and rapid pace in junior categories.
